Salvation Army Responding in Florida

Nonprofits Mobilized to Help Hurricane Helene Victims and Quickly Respond to Hurricane Milton

Images of the the destruction of Hurricane Helene & Milton are heartbreaking.  The Category 4 Hurricane Helene, caused widespread damage to coastal towns, along the Florida coast due to severe storm surges and flooding, extensive flooding in North Georgia and catastrophic flooding in the Carolinas due to flash floods of swollen rivers, unprecedented rainfall and heavy winds.   Over 100 deaths due to the storm have been confirmed so far.

In the aftermath, communities across these states are struggling with rescue efforts and storm cleanup. North Carolina’s western counties were hit by catastrophic floods, leaving roads and homes destroyed. The mountainous terrain further complicates rescue efforts, especially in regions like Buncombe County, where entire communities have been cut off due to landslides. Similarly, Georgia reported significant fatalities and widespread destruction of homes and businesses.

Category 3 Hurricane Milton’s impact is still unfolding with tragic initial stories of bravery and survival coming to light.

Your support can help provide relief to those grappling with the aftermath of these historic storms. Whether through monetary donations or volunteering, every contribution helps to bring communities one step closer to recovery.

To assist those affected, donations to trusted organizations can make a significant difference.
