The Salvation Army Alaska Division provides emergency assistance to families in need, operates food pantries, youth programs and spiritual support in 18 communities throughout Alaska. In addition, we operate five additional programs in the Anchorage area as follows:
Clitheroe Center offers both in-patient and outpatient addiction treatment.
Eagle Crest offers low cost transitional housing.
McKinnell Shelter and Family Services provides temporary financial support and food to families in need with the goal of preventing homelessness and operates 16 room family shelter capable of housing up to 48 inviduals at a time. McKinnell is the only family shelter in Anchorage which accepts single father and two parent families in addition to single mother families.
Older Alaskans Program operates meals on wheels in the Anchorage area delivered meals to 600 elders daily in addition to serving lunch at three communal lunch sites.
Additionally, our statewide programs include King's Lake Camp in Wasilla which offers week-long residential camp experience to low income children from throughout the state and Emergency Disaster Services in the form of emergency disaster preparedness and response throughout Alaska.
We serve all Alaskans who come to us in need regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or legal status.

The Salvation Army is the largest social services provider in the state of Alaska serving an average of 7,185 Alaskans per month in 18 communities throughout the state. In FY2014, this included over 250,000 meals, 65,000 days of care and shelter, and more than 50,000 Christmas gifts. Other services included addiction treatment, prision visits and youth programs.
