Shipmates, the women's auxiliary of the Tacoma Yacht club promote friendliness and encourage charitable activities while also promoting the sport of yachting.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

The Tacoma Yacht Club Shipmates, established in 1937, are involved in the community in several ways by lending support to various community organizations, including youth related marine organizations.

• Supporting maritime youth, specifically the Sea Scouts and the Tacoma Yacht Club’s Junior Sailing program.
• Supporting the Daffodil princesses by providing each princess with Daffodil apparel, a hosted tea and dinner and a $500 “Miss Congeniality” scholarship.
• Hosting a Santa Christmas and Easter Bunny event with activities for children of all ages.
• Santa’s Project – At Christmas we provide a dinner and gifts for 15-20 families.
