Founded in 2006, M?lama Kaua’i is a community-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on increasing local food production and access for Kaua‘i. We do this though a lens of resilience and sustainability, which leverages workforce and economic development efforts, partnerships and innovative programs to grow community capacity.
In 2020, we were able to distribute over 21,000 locally-grown produce bags and over 800 food trees to families and kupuna in need across our island. Through this connection farmers have been sustained during the pandemic, which is critical to keeping our food producers growing food security for our island.
