Overview

Delta Western Petroleum is Alaska’s leading independent distributor of petroleum products and lubricants. Delta Western strongly believes in giving back to the Alaskan communities in which we operate.

 

We are pleased to continue for the graduating class of 2025, the Delta Western Continuing Higher Education Scholarship for Alaska’s Youth. The recipient of the scholarship will receive $10,000 to be paid to the accredited educational institution of their choice over the course of four consecutive years beginning in the fall quarter following graduation.

 

Applicants: Please read the entire application packet and fill out the attached forms completely and correctly as possible.

 

Eligibility requirements and application process:

The Delta Western Petroleum Scholarship is open to 2025 graduating seniors from the following high schools that have a need for financial assistance in continuing their higher education.

  • Bethel Regional High School
  • Haines High School
  • Juneau School District
  • Ketchikan High School
  • Sitka High School
  • Unalaska City High School
  • Yakutat High School
  • Mt. Edgecumbe High School

 

All applications must include the following:

  1. Application form
  2. Cover letter
  3. Two letters of recommendation from someone other than relatives 
  4. Official high school transcripts for all four years  
  5. Signed media release form
  6. Application checklist

Scholarship payment schedule and disbursement process:

The selected recipient will receive their scholarship payments beginning in the fall quarter following graduation, as follows:

  • Two:  Year program: $3,000 the first year, $7,000 the second year.
  • Four:  Year program: $1000 the first year, $2000 the second year, $3000 the third year, and $4000 the fourth year. 

These payments are dependent on maintaining the required GPA and confirmation process explained below.


Requirements to maintain scholarship status:

The recipient must maintain a minimum of a 3.00 GPA. An official transcript is required to be sent directly to Delta Western from the institution at the completion of each academic school year to confirm all requirements have been met.  Recipients unable to maintain the required minimum GPA will forfeit the award that year and have one year to regain minimum GPA status.
