Employee Volunteer Match Program

The Employee Volunteer Match Program is a dollar for hour donation for eligible employee(s) to eligible organization(s) designed to encourage and recognize volunteering on an Individual or Team basis.  Each Volunteer hour will result in a $10.00 donation to the eligible organization.

 Volunteer Activity Guidelines

  • Volunteer efforts at K-12 schools, colleges, or universities should support academics or character development, including supporting extracurricular activities (including Parent Teacher Organization leadership, Booster Club leadership, coaching, concessions, carnivals), office/classroom assistance.  However, time spent attending events as a parent  is NOT eligible (i.e. -attending PTO meetings not in a leadership role, team game spectator, etc).
  • Volunteer efforts associated with fundraising events may qualify for a Volunteer Match donation provided participation is open to the general public, the event is planned, organized, and sponsored by the eligible organization and YMMC volunteers are only assisting with the work necessary to facilitate the fundraising project, such as staffing of a registration table, serving of refreshments, event clean-up, etc. The time that a person spends raising funds or walking in a walk-a-thon, riding in a bike-a-thon, etc. is NOT eligible.
  • Volunteer activities for organizations where the volunteer or anyone in the volunteer’s family is a member or receives any direct benefit of more than nominal value in return for the volunteer matching donation are NOT eligible for a Volunteer Match donation.  It is the policy of YMMC that employees avoid any actual or apparent conflict of interest between their own personal interests and the interests of the YMMC.  Any questions regarding conflicts of interest should be discussed with Corporate Planning.

Matching Volunteer Time Guidelines

Volunteer time must:

  • Occur while employed as an eligible employee.
  • Not occur during Yamaha work schedule hours or paid time.
  • Occur in one day or on a reoccurring basis such as a team or individual working on an activity once a week/month, etc.
  • Completed in the past (not planned, pledged, or promised).
  • Completed within 12 months of the match request.
  • Performed at an eligible organization. 

Track Your Hours:

Log into GivingTrax to record your volunteer hours as they take place.  Once you have accrued at least 4 hours, click the option to submit for the Volunteer Matching Donation request.

Employee Match Gifts

Employee Match Program

The YMMC Employee Match Program is a dollar for dollar donation match with a $25.00 minimum and $500.00 maximum per donation limit and an annual (calendar year) $500.00 per associate limit.

Eligible donations must be:

  1. a tax-deductible, charitable contributions of USD $25 (or equivalent) or more paid directly to the Eligible Organization. 
  2. a current contribution from the associates own assets. Donations must be made, not merely pledged. A matching donation cannot be used to satisfy a personal pledge (e.g., a pledge of $1,000 cannot be satisfied by $500 from the donor and $500 from YMMC match).
  3. made via cash, check or credit card.
  4. only for the tax deductible quantity.  The value of any received service or benefit (such as event tickets, thank you gift, subscription, or camp sponsorship where the associate or a relative attends the camp) must be deducted from the contribution total.

Employees may submit Employee Entry Fees for self-participation in a fund raising activity (for example, walk-a-thons, ride-a-thons, race/competition, golf tournament) to benefit an Eligible Organization.  Regardless of the amount of the event entry fee, the maximum matching donation is $25.00.

Submit an Employee Matching Donation Request:

YMMC uses GivingTrax to process matching gifts.

Employees may contribute and apply for matching donations in two ways.

  1. Employees give to the charity of their choice online through GivingTrax.com.
  2. Employees contributes directly to their charity & request the match through GivingTrax by attaching a copy of the receipt showing the original contribution.

Yamaha reserves the right to approve or deny donation requests at our sole discretion.


Steps to Connect with us in GivingTrax:

If you received an email notification with credentials, you have already been registered and connected to us in GivingTrax.  

If you are unsure, you may contact GivingTrax at [email protected]  to check.  If you need to register, please follow steps 1-3 below:

1.  Visit www.GivingTrax.com to login with the credentials provided to you.

 If you do not yet have an account, choose the option to register, then proceed to steps 2 and 3.

2.  After creating your GivingTrax account, visit our public page and click on the "connect"  next to our logo.  

If you were redirected to log-in first, you may need to click on the "connect" button, again.

3.  Choose "employee" in the dropdown list, then "submit".

You will receive an email notice when the employee connection has been approved.  

Please wait until you receive the notification before proceeding with the next step.  

You only need to do this ONE time.


Steps to Submit an Employee Matching Gifts Request in GivingTrax:

1.  Login to GivingTrax using the link in the top menu bar or by visiting:  https://www.GivingTrax.com/app/login/

2a.  If you desire to make a donation through GivingTrax, search for nonprofit wishes or the desired nonprofit.

       Then click on "CLICK N GIVE".  Follow the on-screen steps to complete your donation and matching gift request. 

2b.  If you made a donation outside of GivingTrax and wish for YMMC to match, please follow these steps:

  • Login by visiting:  https://www.GivingTrax.com/app/login/
  • Click [Request Matching Gift] button on your dashboard. 
    • Tip:  Please have an electronic copy of your receipt ready so that it may be attached to the request.
  • Select Recipient Organization,  [Click to Validate Charity] and [Save & Continue]
  • Enter donation Information & attach the donation reciept.
  • Select Donation Matching for individual request or Team Match for pre-approved team activity involving five or more Yamaha employees.
  • Follow prompts until you [Complete Request]
  • You will recieve e-mails when the request is approved and again when it is completed.


Steps to Check the Status:

You will see your donation on the "my donations" tab and the matching gift request to Yamaha Motor

Manufacturing Corporation of America on the "my requests" tab.  

When the donation is approved, you will receive an email notification.

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC) has a long-standing commitment of giving back to our surrounding communities. Our Corporate Donation Program is funded by the YMMC Recycling program where our employees recycle waste materials such as plastic, cardboard and metal.  This allows YMMC to reduce our impact on the environment and support community efforts and organizations.

The YMMC Corporate Donation Program includes Employee Matching Donations, Employee Volunteer Matching Donations, and Corporate Donations to our local communities.

Eligible Organizations

Eligible organizations must be considered a charitable organization recognized as tax exempt by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code and have an Employer Identification Number (EIN), OR be an instrumentality of a state or local government under IRC Section 170(c)(1).

Employee Match Program

The Employee Match Program is a dollar for dollar donation match with a $25.00 minimum and $500.00 maximum per donation limit and an annual (calendar year) $500.00 per associate limit.  

Employee Volunteer Match Program

The Employee Volunteer Match Program is a dollar for hour donation designed to encourage and recognize employees volunteering on an Individual or Team basis.  Each volunteer hour results in a $10 donation to the eligible organization (4 hours/$40 minimum, 50 hours/$500 maximum per year).    


YMMC generally does not match donations to:

  • Organizations that do not have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or are not a state/local government instrumentality under IRC Section 170(c)(1).
  • Religious organizations primarily promoting their doctrine/beliefs system.
  • Private foundations.
  • Lobbying, political or fraternal activities.

YMMC reserves the right to approve or deny donation requests at our sole discretion.

About Us

YMMC is located about 30 minutes south of Atlanta in Newnan, Georgia. We employ over 1400 people in our facility, which consists of three manufacturing plants and three distribution centers. We manufacture 4 recreational product lines including Golf Cars, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV), Personal Watercraft  and Recreational Off-highway Vehicles (ROV).

We do not sell directly to the public from our facility.  Our products are sold and distributed in the U.S. by Yamaha Motor Corporation USA, which is headquartered in California.
