The purpose of the Saltchuk Marine Corporate Giving Program is to recognize our responsibility as a good corporate citizen by making contributions back to the communities in which we operate. The Saltchuk Marine Corporate Giving Program supports local agencies and non-profit organizations that provide needed services to those communities.
Saltchuk Marine companies support local non-profit organizations through several means – cash contributions, volunteer activities, in-kind giving, and employee matching gift contributions.
GIVINGtrax is a trusted source for processing donations through an online application process. Foss has partnered with GIVINGtrax to process donation requests more effectively we receive.

Criteria for Eligibility
Saltchuk Marine supports organizations that the IRS has approved as 501(c)3 charities, and government institutions. We target support to specific projects or programs that enhance the organization's scope of services. Our contributions are seldom used to support administration operating costs or related capital campaigns.

In-Kind Giving
Operating companies are encouraged to provide reasonable in-kind donations of equipment, facilities, technical resources, and volunteers. Requests for in-kind contributions are evaluated based on the operating company's availability of material resources and staffing.
Saltchuk Marine: A strong family of marine services companies
A rich and storied history of innovation and service drives Saltchuk’s marine services companies. Founded in 1889 by Thea Foss, “Tugboat Annie” herself, Foss Maritime joined the Saltchuk family of companies in 1987. Today, Foss owns and operates one of the nation’s largest coastal tug and barge fleets, offering a broad range of green- and blue-water marine services in the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Alaska, and beyond.
Founded in 1900, Young Brothers (YB) is Hawaii’s foremost inter-island freight handling and transportation company, serving individuals and businesses alike, moving goods by barge among the Hawaiian Islands.
Formed in 1924, Cook Inlet Tug & Barge is an Alaska based marine transportation company, specializing in harbor services, fuel distribution, construction and Oil & Gas industry support operating along Alaska’s entire coastline including the Port of Anchorage and Cook Inlet, Seward, Southeast Alaska, Aleutian Islands and Western/Arctic Alaska.
Since 1976, AmNav has been the leading provider of marine and harbor services in the San Francisco Bay area and has expanded operations to Los Angeles/Long Beach and along the West Coast.
Starlight Marine, our most recent addition, provides ship assist and tanker escort services in LA/Long Beach and the San Francisco Bay.
