KSA is in need of a new coach boat. Our current boat is no longer safe to use. It has been with us since the 80’s and has many holes, is slow and water logged. Our engine sometimes starts, and sometimes quits. These are not the qualities one wants a safety boat to possess.

There is a boat in good condition, with a reliable engine that is being offered to us for 12,000.

Without our coach boat we cannot take anyone out on the water for classes. Please help the people of Kauai on their discovery of our marine world.

The mission of the Kauai Sailing Association (KSA) is to facilitate opportunities to experience sailing and marine education in Kauai, Hawaii. The non-profit corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes concerning sailing, marine cultural exploration, science, ecology, biology, navigation, and boating safety education, including the making of distribution to other organizations.

KSA will operate in a fiscally sound matter, and engage in Kauai community outreach encouraging the participation of the youth, disadvantaged, and community members from all walks of life. The association promotes national amateur sailing, safe boating, maritime education and exploration.

This is accomplished by maintaining a group of trained instructors, owning and chartering a fleet of boats, and by training sailors through outreach and educational programs. KSA also aims to provide equipment and facilities to encourage participation in local as well as national educational and nautical activities

Carl Andersson, Chair

Carl became interested in KSA in 2010. Growing up in Sweden, he has many fond memories of sailing the archipelago as a youth. Carl wanted to give the same opportunities to his daughter, her friends, and other youth on the island. As such Carl has been instrumental in beginning youth sailing on Kauai. Carl is a US Sailing certified coach. He coaches both adult and youth sailing. You will often find Carl on the water in his Olson 30’ heaped to the brim with eager new sailors.
